I was motivated to do this by Baptist minister friend Randy Carter, two of whose blood children grew up with Maria and Danny.
Randy and Becca have five (?) other adopted children, mostly from Russia.
Randy and Becca are self-evidently generous, kind, loving, service-oriented people in whom the holy/wholesome spirit is deeply embedded - and shines through.
I will mention that Trump’s ascendancy among the conservative members of Randy's prior congregations, has caused him lots of psycho-spiritual turmoil.
It is perfectly clear to any open-handed virtuous person (who believes in the cornerstone of Truth) that Trump is, at bottom, a consumingly cruel, solipsististic, compulsive liar who is full of sh*t.
In any event, yesterday when Randy came to the defense of the innocent fellow, Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was "mistakenly" seized by ICE and sent off to El Salvador‘s infamous Mega Prison — never to be seen again — one of his congregants went bonkle-donk, enumerating in her snitty, snarky, presumptuous way a litany of half-baked reasons why Randy was making the nation's situation worse by offering his divisive view.
I must say that for twenty years I have appreciated Randy’s calm reasonability as he (methodically, reasonably, and informed by deep scholarship) tries to put these “lost souls” back on The Way.
For targeted purposes, I can pretty much use Randy's approach, but only at wide intervals. If I had to eat Randy's daily bread, I'd go nuts. (I remember your recent comment to me, which I reflect upon like a medal of honor: "If you were born black, Alan, you'd be in prison now."
It's no secret that when "truth-justice" are at stake, I have trouble containing myself.
Plus, I have spent too many years in the labor-intensive undertaking of gathering solid, corroborable information about Trump -- and then collating it reasonably -- so that anyone interested in Truth will find therein a dependable tool for tracking down Truth.

I am continually surprised to find that "conservative" "Christians" are such manifestly fearful people. They have taken leave of their senses.
They live lives that automatically morph reality into an enveloping delusion in which their fundamentally fact-free world is not only portrayed (to others and to themselves) as true, but as "God's Truth."
The patients are in charge of the asylum, and presume their asylum is The Promised Land.
They make their proclamations of faith with the same decerebrate certainty that "good Germans" manifested in The Third Reich.
My working hypothesis is that Trump cultists want liberals dead, whereas liberals only want Trump cultists to leave them alone - just as an earlier generation of conservative Christians left them alone when they were backwoods snake-handlers instead of snakes.
It never occurs to Trump cultists -- particularly self-righteous "Christian" "conservatives" (who are neither) -- to “live and let live.”
These folks are dominance-submission hierarchs, and nothing but total domination is even open for consideration.
These "true believers" are absolutely certain God is on their side, and that the rest of us infidels are damned to The Lake of Unquenchable Fire.
And so, since “God said it, I believe it, and that settles it,” they take it upon themselves to be dictatorial-and-cruel because that’s what their God is, and that’s what their God ordains.
It is hard to see a way out of this muddle.

I think we need to work at the transformational work of becoming the kind of loving, giving, open-handed person that will automaticlly want to "jump right in" because heaven is HOME; whereas those who are crimped, cramped, cold and witholding -- and, God forbid, "cruel" --will find themselves beyond the reach of God's salvation because they have not prepared themselves to be happy there.
These folks want to be made happy.
They don't want to do the things that will make them happy.
