Thanks for your email and suggestions about sound preparation techniques for Joe's upcoming debates.
From my vantage, I hope Joe is being coached to make blanket statements at the beginning of each debate that he intends to ponder each question for a moment before beginning his reply.
I also hope Joe is coached to have a number of well-considered "stock statements" to explain why he may not answer impertinent questions, but rather questions that needs asking.
For example, if asked about Hunter's alleged malfeasance, Joe would answer by saying that his son is a grown man and whatever he does is Hunter's responsibility, not Joe's. Therefore the moderator's question does not lend itself to any meaningful discussion, but plays into Trump's consistently false narrative.
"On the other hand," Joe might say, "here is an issue that does deserve attention..."
He can then follow up with an investigation of Trump's criminal life, including Trump University, his corrupt foundation, his four thousand lawsuits, his repetitious refusal to pay workers, and his being named "co-conspirator" in the same crime that put Michael Cohen in prison for a hard-time felony.
