Meet JD Vance's Indian-Origin Woman (And Her Role In Ron Howard's Movie, "Hillsbilly Elegy," Based On Vance's Eponymous 2016 Memoir)

JD Vance’s wife is a Yale-trained lawyer and practicing Hindu.
Vance considers Usha an important advisor and is grateful that she regularly 'tells him what to do - and what not to.'

Currently, I am watching Ron Howard's filmatic adaptation of Vance's memoir "Hillbilly Elegy" on Netflix.

It is not a great movie, but it does show the need for great compassion when people - like Vance's mother - are deranged, abusive, violent and dysfunctional.

I am about a quarter of the way into the movie and see no indication that Vance embodies the kind of compassion which, in my view, would have compelled Trump's vice presidential candidate to support Universal Healthcare so that his mother got the care she needed.

I surmise the likely significance of Vance being a heavyweight capitalist investor (and multi-millionaire) who knows which side healthcare profits are buttered on.

Many people in my Chicago community have read Vance's memoir,"Hillbilly Elegy" and say it's a great book. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hillbilly_Elegy
