If You Have Not Yet Seen Trump's Deranged Rant In Las Vegas (June 9, 2024) It Is Indistinguishable From Homeless Lunatics Mumbling Word Salad On Street Corners

(Nicolle Wallace was a top level Republican operative who "handled" Sarah Palin during her vice-presidential campaign alongside John McCain.)

I conclude that the roots of such benightedness are twofold: economic and religious.

Firstly, I am all in favor of responsible Capitalism, but I am steadfastly opposed to the kind of Cowboy Capitalism whose magnates (Trump among them) would trash the biosphere to make another buck they don't need... nor could they spend their death-dealing profit in saecula saeculorum.

Sometime around Reagan and his "Me Generation," Capitalism completed the transmutation of "Responsible Citizens" into "Consumer Units," Pavlovian people finally conditioned to "spend money they didn't have, to buy things they didn't want, to impress people they didn't like."

And so, what remained inside Consumer Units' psyches was a mindless quest for "stuff, more stuff and where the hell am I going to store the stuff?"

Hyperbole aside, it is "plain-as-potatoes" (to borrow Chesterton's phrase) that Capitalism has fashioned a fantasy-driven mindset that makes people focus on purchasable pleasures in their never-ending -- and everlastingly bogus -- attempts to fill The Bottomless Void (where "joy" used to dwell) with a ceaseless torrent of what is referred to in the Roman Church's Easter Vigil mass as "the glamour of Satan." (God, I love that phrase!)

The heresy in all this --- and it is useful to keep in mind that "heresy is falsehood masquerading as truth" --- is the intrinsically erroneous belief that if we accumulate enough pleasures, they will - like assembling a mosaic - eventually devise a psycho-spiritual matrix that will make sense, and even make us happy. (The same heresy pertains to whoremongers Malignant Messiah who is convinced that the purchase-of-sex is better than staying home with wife, Melania, while she recovers from giving birth to baby Baron."

Sadly - and in Trump's case, tragically - we are not made increasingly happy, but increasingly craven, remaking ourselves in the image of other deluded addicts for whom the false promise of "the next hit" comes down to "just one more" consumer good.

Now, we come to Trumpista "religion" -- which in its current manifestation is called "conservative" "Christianity," an ersatz simulacrum of religion which feeds on fantastical and/or miraculous claims whose upshot is to establish a template for people to interpret any Goddamn fiction as Truth.

I will close with an instructive, and highly-engaging, animation.
