Alan: I have long marveled at the number of people - like myself - who understand that Facebook is an existential threat to the primacy of Truth and the survival of Democracy, but continue to use it because they believe their "individual participation" will do more good than harm.
And for all this time, I have promoted the formation of a Truth-friendly alternative to Facebook.
To this end, it has always been clear to me that a consortium of well-informed celebrities -- George Clooney, Bruce Springsteen, Stephen Colbert, Rachel Maddow, in collaboration with "woke" philanthropists like Nick Hanauer and Bill and Melinda Gates -- could create such a platform, and that the very celebrity of its founders would guarantee its success.
If an enlightened alternative to Facebook existed, I would jump ship in a heartbeat.
Now, The Pillow Guy plans to undertake a similar project all on his own.
Why are liberals and progressives -- indeed anyone who values Truth -- not clamoring for an alternative to Facebook.
This is not rocket science.
