Everywhere we look, life is full of “threshold phenomena.”

When a glass of water in a temperature-controlled room reaches the temperature of 212°F, it changes from its liquid state to a qualitatively different gaseous state.

And when that same glass of water reaches the temperature of 32°F, liquid water undergoes a categorically qualitative change to solidity.

Kirk routinely treats any issue as if qualitative differences do not come in into play according to the varying circumstances of “threshold phenomena.”

If he does, this deliberately, as I think he does, not only is he liar, but a particularly devious liar.
