Charlie Kirk's cruel, death-peddling proclamation squares perfectly with the punitive mindset of Trump-followers whom "Archie Bunker" accurately describes in the following Dick Cavett interview https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5j4gjse35C8
Alan: If we are actually "living right" - if we actually follow "the Way, the Truth and the Life" -- if we love indiscriminately, NOT making any prior judgment about whom deserves to be loved -- we will live without the paralyzing fear of post-mortem judgment, casting us into The Lake of Unquenchable Fire worlds without end - FOREVER and EVER and EVER and EVER and EVER...!
Why does living according to "the Way, the Truth, and the Life" free us from fear of eternal punishment, a fundamental -- if not THE fundamental -- anxiety of Christian Nationalists, and other "Christian" "conservatives"?
When we actually follow "the Way, the Truth and the Life," we are then living in such a way that "virtue is its own reward," and it becomes self-evident that we will not be punished.
By the way... "vice is its own punishment."
I remember a black man noting on NPR that "We are nor punished for our sins. Rather, we are punished by them." I am awe-struck at the spot-on incisiveness of this insight.
Notably, Trump and his followers are not happy people.
In the following interview with Dick Cavett, Archie Bunker describes - with keen precision - why they are not happy
In brief, we humans grow unhappy, and fearful of post-mortem judgment, when we live our lives wrongly.
Archie Bunker cuts to the quick of Trumpism, revealing Trump-followers as fundamentally unhappy people.
And they are unhappy because they hold shoddy, fallacious beliefs - quite likely through "no" fault of their own.
In any event, the heart of Archie's revelation begins at the 2:09 mark of the following video clip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5j4gjse35C8
