My Letter To The Editor Of The New York Times And The Washington Post About Their Need To Lead The Charge Against Trump's Replacement Of Democracy With Oligarchy-Plutocracy-Kakistocracy

 image.png

Greetings,

The American mainstream press has a moral and political obligation to acknowledge the clear-cut fact that Trump and his appointees are traitors who will destroy The American Experiment in democratic self-rule.

Similarly, Justices Roberts, Barrett, Gorsuch, and Kavanaugh are obliged to hold Trump and his adminstration in check.

In conscience -- and in accordance with the pre-requisite qualities of patriotism -- it is your sacred responsibility to alert the citizenry to the fact of spreading autocracy, and the imminent loss of anything resembling democratic process.

The conservative members of The Supreme Court - along with the editorial boards of the New York Times, the Washington Post, and every other major American newspaper - will go down in ignominy if you remain silent about the impending catastrophe and refuse to declare - emphatically and continually - that the American way of governance hangs by a thread.

Notably, that thread will break unless you muster the courage, integrity, and honesty to pronounce the unfolding abomination, abominable.

If you sound the alarm, nothing will be lost - and the Republic will be secured.

If you do not sound the alarm, history will be unkind to all of Trump's "play-it-safe" collaborators.

I commend you for contemplating the clear and present urgency of doing the right thing.

Attentively,

Alan Archibald

Were we ever "the land of the free, and the home of the brave?"
Or have we always been "the land of the shackled, and the home of the craven?"

I encourage you to take H.G. Wells' observation to heart.

The whole shebang WILL "play out" in the doman of education.

ALL "conservative" "Christians" (who are neither)
have given Trump a mulligan

The Hardest Lesson: People Want To Be Lied To | The Hardest Lesson People Want To Be Lied To. They Are Not Just Ignorant. They Are Aggressively Ignorant. Boastfully Ignorant. I know the above meme seems an impossible indulgence of Pollyannish thinking.
But remember the delight and surprise we all felt when the New York jury convicted Trump on all 34 counts.
Even more importantly, remember how the Soviet Union fell -- in a matter of weeks -- and without a single shot being fired.
We leftists tend to undervalue the world's "wisdom traditions."

If Trump's quest for power meant he had to defecate in God's mouth, His Malignancy would do so in a heartbeat.

Forgive my indulgence...
I'm going to remind y'all: "I told you so."
To me it seems that we want oligarchy, plutocracy and kakistocracy.
... or, at least, that we are prepared to "sign off" on "oligarchy, plutocracy and kakistocracy" without putting up a fight.

Trump Is Hoping For One More Victory: Time Is Running Out Quickly On Our Last Chance To Stand For The Rule Of Law... Or, Do We Want Trump To Go Scot-Free? Currently, New York State Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan Has Opportunity -- Even A Mandate -- To Sentence Trump For Up To 100 Years Behind Bars
