Pope Francis lays it down: American conservatives have a "suicidal attitude."

I have long held that "conservative" "Christians" (who are neither) are so eager for "The Second Coming" when, in their view, Jesus will set everything right -- with the incredibly convenient outcome that they don't have to do a goddamn thing to put earth's house in order.

Not always (but shockingly often) these "Christian" "conservatives" pray for Armageddon which they see as a necessary prelude for the Messiah's return.

Here is an excerpt from Wikipedia's article on "Armaggedon": "Many Christians pray for Armageddon because it is a symbol of the world's progression towards the "great day of God, the Almighty". This is when God will unleash his holy wrath against sinners led by Satan, resulting in a final confrontation at the end of the world."
