It is high time we start talking about dividing the United States into two independent polities.

Since red states are densely populated with stupid, ignorant, poorly-educated people, I believe it will not be long before the sewer backs up on their emergent theocratic oligarchies and they seek to re-establish union with The United States Of Compassion And Science.
When that request is made, we will consider their request only on Blue State terms.

Contemplating the prospect of two independent polities - and the likely desire that "Jesusland" rejoin the "United States," it would also be wise to mandate a "trial period" during which "Jesusland" must comply with certain mandated "milestones of civilization" (and acculturation to Blue State norms), or they can stay in self-imposed, dumbf*ck banishment. (Admission to the European Union included such milestones.)
