Retired General Barry Richard McCaffrey was one of America’s most successful and dedicated generals and served from Vietnam to the Gulf War before joining the Clinton administration – so he knows what he’s talking about.

McCaffrey delivered some very bad news to Trump while responding to a discussion on the US Navy’s logistical issues after Iran blew up all our bases in the Middle East in response to Trump’s unprovoked war of aggression against the Islamic Republic.

“In my judgement, the US Armed Forces have probably permanently lost access to 15 Persian Gulf bases. Iran now poised to control access the Gulf States. US will have to negotiate new access in western Saudi Arabia, Israel, southern Europe.”

The implications of this are enormous.

It’s a complete and total upheaval in the balance of power in the Middle East and a huge defeat for American hegemony, which now is unable to project force in one of the most strategically important areas in the world.

We can already see new lines being drawn in the sand as Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkiye form a new defensive alliance – and rumors swirl that Iraq and Iran might be added to it.

In his lust for glory and desperate need to feel like a winner, Trump has completely destroyed America’s global position and humiliated us in front of the whole world.
