Have you noticed (as I have) that JD Vance seems to be asserting himself more boldly of late?

If my observation is correct, I hypothesize this is the reason...

As the mid-terms draw nigh (133 days to go), Vance knows that Trump's support is waning, if not cratering.

Vance may even know that after the midterms, the cabinet is perhaps planning to invoke the 25th Amendment -- in part because Cesspool-Reflecting-Pool-King-ExcreMIDAS is a greater political liability every day -- and his formerly invertebrate suckholes are dawningly aware they might get more traction by turning on Caligula. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caligula

If this happens, JD inherits the mantle... with two years to pull the GOP from the sewage.

In the wake of His Malignancy's ouster, two years of a (minimally) "sane" administration (showing its willingness to reverse some of Trump's egregious malfeasance) would position the GOP optimally (or, as optimally as possible) for victory in 2028. 

At the same time, they would maximize the likelihood of at keeping the senate, or "getting it back."

Remember.

These guys are pragmatic politicians.

And however you slice it, Trump is toast --- an Oz-like boogie-man-Gollum who is less than a shadow of his former self.

Unfortunately what I hear from followers of Texas voters is that deep red Texas will never vote for a Dem. even if it was Jesus himself.

 Instead they will look for one thing they can back in the Rep. candidate and  forget the rest no matter how disgraceful.

We can only hope that enough stay home instead of voting .

I support James Talarico, because I believe in the Christian gospel he preaches.

I am a cradle Catholic, and I do not believe the Gospel of Cruelty enacted by Trump-supporting Christians who bear no resemblance (at least none that I can discern) to the core teachings of Jesus, the Nazarene.

I am increasingly aware that popes Francis and Leo XIV are diametrically opposed to the innumersble travesties promoted by the Christian nationalists who fill the White House, while turning it into a den of thieves.

Jesus calls on us to welcome the foreigner wherever we find him (as does James), whereas MAGA world delights in vicious, vengeful, abusive trashing of human dignity and stem to stern degradation of the Human Family.
