There is no staple food, animal or vegetable, that has not been genetically engineered by humans. You would be hard-pressed to name any staple food that exists or existed in the wild. Not pigs, chickens or cows. Not corn, wheat, rice, soy, melons, p…

It just occurred to me that "puritanism" (like Christianity generally) contains a core element of self-centeredness.
Puritanism's quest is for "MY personal salvation" from the impurities of the world.
By way of contrast, consider Buddhism's Bodhisatva Vow
The Bodhisatva Vow is a solemn oath that no matter how many incarnations are yet to come in an individual's karmic evolution, the Bodhisatva promises to work for the enlightenment of all sentient beings, and will not pass into a state of perpetual enlightenment until ALL sentient beings are prepared to enter together.
