Hello Maureen,
Someone who lives at Chapel Oaks told a relative of a cousin that your Dad died so I’m just reaching out to you, hoping this is still your email. No one in my family has seen any information so I just want you and your family to know (if it’s true) that you’re in our thoughts. If there is a public service at some point I’m sure some of the family would try to come.
I tried Kathleen’s email but I must have it wrong because it was returned.
If you can be in touch it would be much appreciated. His presence in our family over decades has been a precious gift.
Warmly,
Pat

Subject: Re: Your DadPat,Thanks for reaching out. It is indeed true that Dad passed on 9/25, more quickly than expected. He developed aspiration pneumonia over Labor Day weekend and was in the hospital for 3 days, then moved to rehab at St. Ann’s. In his true fashion, he worked hard thru rigorous rehab for about a week. At that point, he decided to return to his apartment at Chapel Oaks under hospice care.I flew in the day before he went home. Kathleen had been with him the the three weeks prior but had to return to London to ensure her health care stayed valid (England limits the amount of time you can be out of the country with coverage.)Hospice, along with Dad’s caregivers who helped him with meals, etc, were an amazing support. Dad came home on Thursday in good spirits yet became weaker each day. His body was just worn out but certainly not his mind!!! He needed increased level of pain meds which hospice provided. He was able to see Mike and his children and grandchildren on Saturday. Also had a call from a close cousin in Ireland, Florence Cornelia Gavin. Kathleen, Mike and I told Dad that it was his decision when he was ready to leave us. By Sunday he dozed in and out all day and passed peacefully late Sunday evening. Gratefully I was with him as he moved on to see Mom and Kevin.Dad chose to be cremated. We have decided to wait on a celebration of his life so that family and friends can plan to come. It will most likely be sometime next spring. We have a long list of people to notify, including longtime friends like you and your cousins. Please feel free to pass this email on to them.Dad was universally loved and respected by all who knew him. 104 years! A wonderful life that we each were fortunate to be part of. I’ve included Kathleen & Mike here so that you have their current emails & contact info. The Noll and Archibald families were such a big part of our lives growing up. Our parents shared many happy times together. And now they are all together. We’ll keep you posted on when we plan a celebration of Dad’s life. It will be a true celebration of his Irish heritage!MaureenPO Box 1076/Inverness, CA 94937415-302-1352 cellMike494 Heritage Drive/Rochester, NY 14615KathleenSilkmore LodgeSt.Margaret’s RoadTwickenham TW11ARUnited Kingdom
