Have you noticed that all criminal indictments against Trump are being dropped?
And they're being dropped without The Left even putting up a fight.
At least do what we can to make clear that The Lying Fascist's behavior was criminal, and - in the view of the court - deserving of punishment
Thus, the highest court in the land -- perpetrating its ongoing sale of snake oil - will be obliged to reveal itself as the lickspittle institution it is.
No one is above the law.
Not even the president.
ESPECIALLY NOT THE PRESIDENT.
At minimum, bring every indictment against Trump to courtroom fruition.
Or, in the case of Judge Merchan's 34 NYC felony convictions -- which are still slated for sentencing later this month -- let him sentence the multiply convicted criminal, and then let the Supreme Court suspend it.
What's the big deal about sentencing Trump for the felony crimes of which he has been convicted even if the The Supreme Court will then exempt him from any consequence for utterly loathsome criminality.
If the Supreme Court wants to kiss Trump's ass, why not insist - at minimum - that it vacate any conviction AFTER the jury has reached its decision.
At least that would be a moral victory.
At least we would stand by a bedrock principle -- an Ideal, albeit an Ideal that would have no practical, punitive consequence..
What we currently have are kangaroo courts setting free -- time after time after time after time after time --a very criminal ape.
When can we stop pretending to be a responsible society in which evil is at least condemned as evil?
When can we turn our backs on the increasingly prevalent Newspeak of our post-Orwellian world, and call out a criminal as a criminal every time s/he commits a crime, and is properly convicted after due process?
As a society with a right wing and a left wing, we are ALL letting Trump off the hook from ANY real responsibility -- from any "ownership" of criminality, even in principle.
At least stand by principles.
Don't dive headlong into ass-lick suck-muck
Surely, it is no secret that Trump uses his power, money and influence to get away with just about every God-damn thing - now including sedition and treason.
And at the same time, those of us "on the left side of the aisle" don't even get crumbs.
NOT EVEN CRUMBS.
Nothing but a force-fed mouthful of shit.
Tolerating this state of affairs -- without putting up a fight -- is the most hideous manifestation of Trump's criminal, mafioso reconfiguration of our once-upon-a-time Democracy, not to mention his twisting of Truth to such an extent that reporters now routinely refer to our "Post-Truth Era."
As I see it, our situation is qualitatively no different than the normalization of evil perped by Adolf Hitler's Nazi regime in the 1930s, several years before der Fuhrer embarked The Final Solution.
WTF is wrong with us?
Admittedly, Trump is an egregious illustration of what's gone wrong.
But the roots of Malignant Messiah's evil devolve to those Americans who voted for him.
AND -- please take this to heart -- it also devolves to those of us who did not vote for him, but meekly fall in line with il duce's goose-stepping dictates (whether explicit or implicit).
