Donald Trump is no exception.
But when His Malignancy meets his Maker -- and begins to grapple with eternal bliss (...not an easy chore for "the hateful," "the vengeful," and "the punitive") -- I will celebrate the day of his death, just as legions of angels and saints celebrate every soul's return to God.
For me at least, Donald's death -- and consequent entrance to Elysian Fields - will become an annual celebration.
Perhaps a worldwide celebration!
Or, maybe we Americans will make Trump's death-date a National Holiday; a minuscule attempt to compensate for some of the real, profound and lasting harm that Mafia Don has done to each and every one of us, not to mention his putrescent effect on The Body Politic, The General Welfare and The Common Good.
Tell me.
How could the beatific vision of Dorothy's ruby slippers -- protruding from beneath a tornado-swept home -- not bring joy to everyone's bosom, even to the heartless Tin Man (who, according to my Dad, was a distant relative).
However, as it happens...
... we have awoken to a new day, and His Malevolence is not yet dead.
Matthew 5:43-48 The Message
“You’re familiar with the old written law, ‘Love your friend,’ and its unwritten companion, ‘Hate your enemy.’ I’m challenging that. I’m telling you to love your enemies. Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst. When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the supple moves of prayer, for then you are working out of your true selves, your God-created selves. This is what God does. He gives his best—the sun to warm and the rain to nourish—to everyone, regardless: the good and bad, the nice and nasty. If all you do is love the lovable, do you expect a bonus? Anybody can do that. If you simply say hello to those who greet you, do you expect a medal? Any run-of-the-mill sinner does that.
48 “In a word, what I’m saying is, Grow up. You’re kingdom subjects. Now live like it. Live out your God-created identity. Live generously and graciously toward others, the way God lives toward you.”
