The Irrepressible Urge That Compels Cultists To Believe Lies: MAGA World As A Case Study

All people (particularly "good Christians") who "buy into" Trump as a "patriotic savior" easily align with Malignant Messiah‘s (apparent) ability to believe his own lies.
SOBMF's singular gift for total self deception reveals the mechanism by which every one of his devotees' other convictions are similarly compromised - including their religious beliefs.
You cannot support The Big Lie and lay claim to Truth.
You are not the soothsayers you think, but bold-faced liars... even to yourselves - perhaps most importantly to yourselves.
The fact that Trump's Christian cultists cannot confront (and therefore do not confront) is that Trump is a consummate liar "cut from cosmic cloth" -- one might say Satanic cloth.
Malignant Messiah is a Prince of Darkness, a master of deception (albeit only for people who WANT to be deceived, or perhaps more arguably NEED to be deceived).
It is not far from the mark to say that "Trump only tells the truth by accident," or that "even a broken clock is right twice a day."
Soon, I will write at length about His Malignancy's colossal self-deception and how it rubbed off on his "Saved!" lickspittles and bottom-feeding coprophages.
For now, I will only draw attention to the following passage from The Sermon on The Mount which leaves me incapable of squaring conservative Christians" passion for Trump undying passion to exact vengeance-and-hellish-retribution... with the simple exhortations laid out in the fifth chapter of Matthew's gospel.
Or in a more modern -- but perhaps substantively more accurate -- rendition: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/...
At the moment - and in light of Ty Cobb's quotation below, it is surpassingly strange that sooooo many of Trump's self-chosen inner circle have turned on him with fury; among them Marine general James "Mad dog" Mattis; Trump's own choice for Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley; as well as Generals Kelly and McMaster, just to mention four of Trump's top 24 advisors described in the Comment box below the following meme of Trump advisor Ty Cobb.
If right-wingers had one -- just 1 -- defector who turned on Biden with the incandescent intensity of these 24 high-ranking officials (all chosen by Trump himself), we WOULD NOT HEAR THE END OF IT.
Instead we are subjected to an endless fecal fog about Hunter Biden who is completely impertinent in this matter... even if he is guilty of every alleged crime, which - by the way - he is not.
Sadly, we cannot expect people who never embarked the time-consuming-and-painstaking process of "learning how to think soundly," to do anything but proclaim lies-as-truth -- thinking that they louder they shout, the truer their lies become -- while simultaneously embracing the world's most adept bullshit artist with the same intensity that Trump embraced Stormy Daniels and his whole stable of whores.
These Trumpistas are so lacking in morality -- and moral imagination -- that they cannot even conceptualize that they're "wrong about damn near everything": that they have, in effect, become coprophages and pus-garglers.

They are only interested in their own personal salvation (and to a lesser extent the personal salvation of their family members and other "Christians" who belong to their own tribe.

They are essentially incurious people who are uninterested in politics as a way to use positive legislation to make the world a better place. (For example, these "Christian" "conservatives" will not -- ever -- embark legislative programs

They expect God to save them personally -- rescuing them in a last minute rapture -- without them needing to do anything but proclaim "Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior."

If that is how their God has "created and arranged the world" in effect rendering their God an errand boy who will "heal all the boo boos" and "make everything right in another world" (without need for us humans to take responsibility for making the world a better place while we're here), I choose -- emphatically -- not to believe in, nor much less worship, that God.

For me, that God is an illusion, a being who hands out "gold stars" to "all the complacent, self-certain people" who never "get down and dirty" -- people who have been "bought off" by the promise of simplistic, unconplicated pie-in-the-sky, people who are quick to calculate the "heavenly benefits" of "letting their left hand know what their right hand is doing."

And to the extent that punitive vengeance is part of their Godly package -- as it is with their Malignant Messiah, Donald Trump -- they have made themselves into self-righteous Torquemadas, eager to turn the screws on any infidel in this world, as well as the life to come.

Well, screw that!

All this "Jesus is my personal Lord and Savior" shtick as "a get out of Hell free card" is extraordinarily subtle self-seeking -- but self-seeking nonetheless.

For my part, I believe God -- at least insofar as "s/he" can be conceived as the Creative Agent "behind/within it all" -- wants us, even needs us, to be co-creators.

Sola fides (justification by faith alone) is a fundamental heresy, but for those who only have "faith" to bring to the table, sola fides is a nearly inescapable trap.

Read the following meme three times.

Out loud.

And slowly.

May be an image of 2 people and text that says 'TRUMP'S OWN LAWYER SAYS IT ALL: "Trump has never cared about America, its citizens, its future, or anything but himself. His unrestrained contempt for the rule of law and his related crimes, his conduct and mere existence, have hastened the demise of democracy and of the nation!" TY cOBB, Former Trump White House Counsel OCCUPY DEMOCRATS'
If his OWN lawyer says it…
