I encourage you to google the phrase in the subject line of this email (post): “the effects of single-parent homes on child well-being.”
I also encourage you to create other “keyword phrases” that you think might paint a more favorable picture of child wellbeing/happiness/integrity/ mental-health/functionality/ success “outcomes.”
It’s possible is that “word choice“ skews results, but in this instance, I am inclined to doubt there will be any significant difference based on word choice.
I do not deny in this particular instance (aka - area of human “phenomenology” (as in virtually all other domains of human existence) there will present many “exceptions to the rule.”
But I have also come to realize that it is unfair to any reasonable approximation of truth to posit “exceptions as rules.”
In a similar vein, it is true that a single dependable, loving, caring, forgiving, welcoming adult in the lives of children (who have been pretty much “shipwrecked” by broken homes) is very often enough to lead/guide those children into psychologically-healthy adulthood.
Although the following link is rather basic in its orientation, I encourage you to click on the first embedded link to also get the view of researchers at Harvard. https://joshshipp. com/one-caring-adult/
