Money itself isnt evil. It is the love of money and/or anything else in this world that is used to enslave another person that makes it evil. In the hands of good honest men money is used to free us from chains that keep us bound to anything that makes us dependent on things we need to make us happy. Greed is the root of corruption whether one is poor or wealthy. Those who love give out of their hearts whatever little or much they possess. God looks on our hearts not on how we look.

  The fact that money itself is not evil is not in dispute. Indeed, it is the love of money that St. Paul describes as the root of ALL evil.
