Alan: Calgary-based neurologist friend, Arthur Clark M.D. (founder of the Calgary Centre for Global Community - http://www.calgarycgc.org/our-people.html) just sent me a link to a remarkable documentary, "The Third Harmony", produced by The Metta Center for Nonviolence. (The link, below, expires at midnight tonight.)
I do not know why The Metta Center has not made the documentary continuously available, although you can always make arrangements to see it.
Perhaps people like me will be more prone to actually watch the film if they are up against a a deadline, after which the viewing opportunity is no longer available. (There is continuous access to a two minute trailer at )
I am delighted that I took 45 minutes to watch "The Third Harmony."
It is the most comprehensively hopeful experience I've had in a very long time.
I strongly encourage you to check it out.
Here is the information you will need to watch the entire documentary... but just until midnight tonight.

From the Metta Center website:
"The day was dying, the night being born—but with great peace. Harmony, that was it! It was a feeling that transcended reason; that went to the heart of one's despair and found it groundless. The universe was a cosmos, not chaos; [a human] was rightfully part of that cosmos as were day and night." Admiral Richard Byrd, describing an experience he had while spending a winter alone on a weather base in the Antarctic
