While I have some measure of appreciation for your argument, in my mind you manifest misplaced proportionality.
By my lights, the desacralization of American politics is (as a matter of proportionality) overwhelmingly attributable to the monstrosity of Donald Trump and the vestigial "Party of Lincoln." (I will note that my use of the word "monstrosity" is not overstatement but rather a descriptor which fails to clear the bar of understatement.)
