Impeachment in the United States is the process by which a legislature (usually in the form of the lower house) brings charges against a civil officer of government for crimes alleged to have been committed, analogous to the bringing of an indictment by a grand jury. Impeachment may occur at the federal level or the state level. One would think reckless endangerment and negligent homicide would be impeachable crimes, but the division in this country is so extreme -- and so advanced -- that it may be necessary to start all over.

My new, modified, pitch for political "salvation" is that separatists in blue states and red states alike "work together" to establish separate nations so that we are not always at one another's throats, trying to rip out each other's jugular.

That said -- and keeping in mind that "psychological projection" tends to be mutual -- the neo-confederates are so far gone that the only thing they've got left -- the only pleasure they still take in their stunted, embittered, hateful lives is fact-free, religiously-driven sniping, vilification, vengefulness and damnation.

Sadly, the traditional Christian view of damnation has become hybridized so that this orthodox understanding of damnation has come to include liberals, progressives and blue states generally. (This crossover from "Church" to "State" is the fundamental "space" in which the "wall of separation should have remained absolute.)
