Please name a "strong person" who was "pulled down" by "building up the weak."

Just one.

I think Coolidge's sound bite gets a lot of mileage with contemporary "conservatives" (so-called) without having a foundation in reality.

Coolidge's comment is reminiscent of the latino gang MS-13. Every presidential election cycle they get "trotted out," even though neither you nor I -- nor ANYONE we know -- has ever seen a member of MS-13, much less been threatened by them.

The purpose of these "chestnuts' is to piss off right-wing ideologues who are not fond of research nor in-depth thinking.

Have you ever thought about MS-13 except during a presidential election cycle?

I haven't.

And I am fully bilingual - English/Spanish.

Furthermore, I think about ALL kinds of things.

But I don't think about MS-13, which - in terms of national importance -- is a total red herring.

MS-13 is a hot button issue that has NO material impact upon the communities in which we live.

None. Zero. Zilch. Niente. Nada.
